Our dealer-centered philosophy began with Coulson Oil Company founder Ray Coulson, and has been carried on and enhanced by his son, Mike, who leads the company today.
Meet a few of our Coulson Oil leaders:
J.W. (Jim) White, Chairman of the Board
Jim White has been with the company since its inception in 1969, having worked earlier with Ray Coulson at Amoco. As Chairman of the Board, he provides Coulson Oil dealers with tremendous insight and counsel. Jim has had over five decades in the oil marketing industry. Over the years he has developed and operated numerous convenience stores. His knowledge of Coulson Oil and his expertise in the oil marketing industry are valuable dealer resources.
Mike Coulson, President
Mike Coulson is responsible for the overall direction and success of the company. As President, he works to make sure that all programs are developed with the best interest of our dealers in mind. His regular interaction with dealers, combined with more than 30 years in the industry, ensures he knows the kind of innovative programs that work and the type of assistance that dealers need to make them successful. Mike is past president and board member of the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association, past board member of the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers and a member of the National Petroleum Council. He serves as one of the managing members of the Fund for Arkansas' Future, an angel venture capital fund. He recently served a three year term on the Shell Wholesale Council. He was 2004 Chairman of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Baptist Health Board of Trustees since 1985.
Mary Ann Dawkins, Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Secretary
In her role as Vice President of Marketing, Mary Ann has the responsibility of making certain Coulson Oil has all the tools necessary to communicate with its dealers. The safety of our dealers and employees is another function Mary Ann oversees. She is in charge of property/liability insurance, leasing and listing of non-gasoline properties, marketing, advertising, and promotions/banquets/special events. She is past president of the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association. She is currently serving on the board of Special Olympics of Arkansas.
David Zakrzewski, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, David has the overall responsibility for our dealer operations and pricing and supply. He oversees commercial sales and fleet card services and is in charge of alternative fuel development. David also serves as the primary contact with fuel brand representatives. He is a past member of the Arkansas Retail Grocers' Board of Directors and currently serves on the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association Board of Directors.
Gwenn Collins, Vice President, Dealer Operations
Gwenn began his career in the grocery business in 1973 and entered the convenience store business in 1983. Employed with Coulson Oil since 1998, he serves as Vice President of dealer operations and Chairman of the Superstop Coop.
Richard Cannon, President, ChiefSeahawk Transport and Safety Director
Richard brings more than 25 years of experience in transportation with an emphasis in safety. He is certified as an Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Graduated from the University of the Ozarks with a degree in Management, and also obtained an MBA from Webster University. Prior to joining the Coulson Team, he was employeed with Ryder Systems, ABF and other transporation companies. His in-depth knowledge of the transporation industry ensures safety and efficiency in fuel delivery to dealers throughout the state.
